2004 Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon

Our 2004 inaugural release was created from 100% Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon grapes grown in the rich, volcanic soil of the Villa Hermosa Vineyards on a south-facing hillside 2,000 feet above the Napa Valley. Above the fog and with the influence of the sea, Villa Hermosa Cellars’ Cabernet derives its intense color and memorable taste from this extraordinary growing environment and the cultivation techniques used by the owner who dropped half the grapes in 2004 to develop fruit of maximum quality, making the yield half as much but twice as good.

Our 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon rested in 100% new French oak barrels for 20 months which developed a Cabernet with smooth tannins and a velvety berry taste. It was bottled on June 29th, 2006, and is very approachable now and will only improve with age if it is cellared. Only 171 cases were produced in 2004, so the availability is extremely limited.
