2005 Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon
Newly Released Vintage
For Our Friends at Thanksgiving ~ Save $20 on Two Bottles
Our 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon was created from 100% Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon grapes grown in the rich, volcanic soil of the Villa Hermosa Vineyards on a south-facing hillside 2,000 feet above the Napa Valley. On the nose, this vintage has lush aromas of blackberry, blueberry, boysenberry preserves, and lilac with faint notes of juniper, white pepper, and truffle oil. The mouth opens with a warm velvety entry with lush berry and stone fruits. The full weight mid-palate leads to a lengthy, fruit finish. Enjoyable now or lay down for years to come.
Our 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon rested in 100% new French oak barrels for 21 months which developed a Cabernet with smooth tannins and a velvety berry taste. Bottled on June 11th, 2007, it is very approachable now and will only improve with age if it is cellared. Only 330 cases were produced, so the availability is limited.

1st Place: Flight "A" Tasting
2005 Vintage “Villa Hermosa is now two for two in our tasting group and a run away 1st place in this flight. The 2004 also took 1st place back in January. Being 2004 and 2005 are their 1st and 2nd release this is VERY impressive. Seek them out, visit this boutique producer next time you are in town, take a leisure drive up Howell Mountain to Angwin.” —Powell Yang, The Wino Depot
